Denese from near Woodbridge, Suffolk, has rescued animals since the age of 14. At 58, she is still rescuing animals and currently has nine dogs with severe behaviour issues, due to the abject cruelty they were subjected to before Denese stepped in.
Most of the dogs she takes in, have chronic digestive problems, exacerbated by either being starved, or fed inappropriate food. All of the dogs had poor coats.
Denese first met Stephen Salter at an event where he was giving out free samples of his food. He had just started his business. She gave the free samples to her most damaged dog who wouldn’t eat anything and was failing to thrive. He wolfed it down and Denese decided to buy a big bag.
It was a major turning point for Denese and she has been feeding all her dogs on Salters ever since. She reckons that the extra she has spent on food is easily outweighed by the saving on vets bills.
