Perhaps the largest litter of Bernese in the UK 2020
Here’s our latest update on Ruby’s Puppies as told by Kala:
Another week has flown by and the pups are making excellent progress. They are really finding their feet now and love exploring in the garden. Feeding time is always fun to watch however they are much more intent on eating the Salters puppy ‘porridge’ now, rather than playing in it! We have been feeding them twice a day since Sunday but will increase this to three times daily this Sunday. They have all been gaining 1lb on average for the last 2 weeks and are now looking like proper, albeit little, dogs. Their coats have a real glossiness to them too, which you can see in the video.
They are such characters already; Archie and Spotty Dotty are lighter in colour and are of smaller build than their siblings. Archie may be one of the smaller boys but being first born he has taken on the role of being the eldest and is now most definitely the ring leader in any antics. He is very vocal too! Boots, one of the girls was showing signs of being a ‘bossy boots’ earlier on but she has quietened down, in fact, she is a bit of a sleepy head. We often have to wake her for meal times. Once awake she is in full swing playing with the others though. Our second girl, Frenchie is as cute as a button (but aren’t they all?!). She is a feisty pup and of a very strong character already. Lucky and Blaze are the bruisers, weighing in last Sunday at 4lb 8 and 4lb 10 but they both have a genteel nature, at the moment.
Its hard to believe that these little bundles of fun will be leaving us in 3 weeks time ;-( However 2 will be staying in the family, one girl with us (but still can not decide which girl yet as they are just so cute) and Archie is going to be adored by our Son and his daughter-in-law, so they will be able to spend time with each other and we get to see Archie’s progress.
